“The Bright Path: The Johnny Bright Story” is a one-hour documentary explores the trailblazing life of African American and Fort Wayne, Indiana native Johnny Bright, who broke offensive records in college football in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. Bright was poised to be the first African American Heisman Trophy winner his senior year in 1951 until one of the most egregious acts of violence in college football history sidelined his season. Instead of giving up on football, Bright carved out his own career in professional football becoming a Hall of Fame player and an award-winning educator who would go on to impact hundreds of students.
